superior minute monster : Dirt Devil SD30040CS Tattoo Crimson Stars Bagged Canister
I was desperate for a vacuum in my first place. I didn't have a lot of money and I had never purchased a vacuum before. I saw the purple dirt devil on target.com and at kohls.com and found the best price for it here on Amazon. It was free shipping and came approx 3 days after I purchased it, however my introductory reaction to the vacuum was to be very disappointed. There Is No Rotating Brush On This Vacuum! Maybe its just me, but I was shocked that there is no rotating brush. The vacuum just has the vacuum head (which is approx 7in across) which has a groove and a hole where the suction comes out. There are no wheels in the head, its just metal, so while vacuuming the metal scrapes against the floor. At first I though a piece was missing, or that it was defective, but no, this is how the vacuum is made. I Googled this vacuum all over and not one impart points this out. Maybe this is a coarse thing with economy vacuums but I have never seen a vacuum without a rotating brush. Very strange, however I used the vacuum on my hardwoods and on an area rug and it positively has wonderful suction and did the job quite well. (I do worry about the metal plate scraping the floors though.) I do have rug in 2 rooms and while this will work in an emergency, it is not a good vacuum for carpeting. I've decided to keep the vacuum and hopefully buy a more expensive vacuum that does have a rotating brush in the future. I hope this impart helps.
